Joseph Figliolia
Joe Figliolia is a policy analyst at the Manhattan Institute. His work explores the scientific, cultural, philosophical, and sociological dimensions of gender medicine. His writing often touches on mental health culture, institutional dynamics, knowledge construction, and ethics. His writing has appeared in City Journal, The Dispatch, the New York Post, and Real Clear Policy.
Prior to joining the Manhattan Institute, Figliolia was the research coordinator for the New York State Psychiatric Institute’s neuroimaging program, and also worked as a graduate teaching assistant in Clinical Psychology at New York University. His interests include clinical psychology, social theory, philosophy, and the history of ideas.
Figliolia studied psychology and English at SUNY Geneseo, where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He received an MA from NYU’s Center for Experimental Humanities.
