D. Andrew Austin is an economics professor at the University of Houston. He has published research on urban and public economic issues in the U.S. and Europe.

Tucker Carlson is a staff writer for The Weekly Standard.

Steven G. Craig is an economics professor at the University of Houston. He has been the recipient of a Wriston Citicorp fellowship at the Manhattan Institute and has published extensively on state and local public economics.

Theodore Dalrymple is a physician who regularly sees patients in an English prison. He is a contributing editor of City Journal, a columnist for the London Spectator, and a frequent contributor to the Daily Telegraph.

Jonathan Foreman is a contributing editor of City Journal and a contributing writer at The National Law Journal. He has written for The New Yorker, Los Angeles Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and National Review.

David Garrard Lowe, whose books include Lost Chicago, Chicago Interiors, and Stanford White's New York, writes and lectures widely on architectural and cultural history. He is president of the Beaux Arts Alliance, an organization that celebrates the cultural links between the United States and France, and is at work on a book about Beaux Arts architecture in New York.

Heather Mac Donald is a contributing editor of City Journal and John M. Olin Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. Her articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, The New Criterion, and the New York Times.

Francis Morrone is the author of The Architectural Guidebook to New York City, a revised and expanded edition of which will be published in the spring.

Walter Olson is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and the author of The Excuse Factory and The Litigation Explosion.

Dan Seligman is a contributing editor of Forbes.

Sol Stern, a contributing editor of City Journal, has written for Commentary and the Wall Street Journal and has served as a policy analyst for the governments of New York City and New York State.

Larry Towell, a member of Magnum Photos, has had exhibitions at galleries in France and Spain. His books include Somoza's Last Stand, House on Ninth Street, and—most recently—El Salvador.

James Q. Wilson is the author of The Moral Sense, Moral Judgment, and Thinking About Crime, among other books. This year, he retired from a professorship at UCLA.
