Robert Adam is a practicing architect in Winchester, England. Well known for his classical buildings and traditional urban design, he has been commissioned to plan the largest town to be built in Britain in 30 years. His books include the standard work Classical Architecture, A Complete Handbook (Abrams).

Theodore Dalrymple is a physician who regularly sees patients in an English prison. He is a contributing editor of City Journal, a columnist for the London Spectator, and a frequent contributor to the Daily Telegraph.

David Gelernter is a contributing editor of City Journal, author of the recently published 1939: The Lost World of the Fair (Free Press), and a professor of computer science at Yale University.

Kay S. Hymowitz, a City Journal contributing editor, has written about children and education for The New Republic, Dissent, the New York Times, and Newsday.

Stefan Kanfer is the author of seven novels and social histories on subjects ranging from the Holocaust to the life and times of the DeBeers diamond company. His new book, The Animated Mirror (Scribner), will be published next spring.

George L. Kelling is a criminologist who teaches at Northeastern University and advises police departments around the country. He is coauthor with his wife, Catherine M. Coles, of the forthcoming book Fixing Broken Windows: Restoring Order in American Cities (Free Press).

Rita Kramer is a contributing editor of City Journal and author of numerous books, including At a Tender Age: Violent Youths and juvenile justice. She has written for the Wall Street Journal, Commentary, the New York Times Magazine, and The Wilson Quarterly.

Heather Mac Donald is a contributing editor of City journal. Her articles have also appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, and The New Criterion.

Kenneth Silber writes about politics and economics. His articles have appeared in City Journal, Commentary, the Washington Times, Insight, Reason, and other publications.

Sol Stern, a frequent contributor to City Journal, has written for Newsday and the Wall Street journal and has served as a policy analyst for the governments of New York City and New York State.

William J. Stern is a contributing editor of City Journal. He was chairman of Mario Cuomo's 1982 gubernatorial campaign and chairman and president of the New York State Urban Development Corporation from 1983 to 1985. Today he is a private investor.
