You're right, of course, about the false face of moderation often put forth and how little it takes to reveal what's behind the PR mask.

The problem for "moderate" muslims is the fact the Book does indeed make promises of heavenly reward for Jihadists that butcher innocent "heathens." The statements supporting radical terror activities in the forced spread of Islam come straight from their Leader's teachings. Wouldn't disobedience of those commands, or denial of their modern relevence, make them "apostates" and subject to the death penality prescribed by the Book? Kinda hard to raise up a Martin Luther in that environment.

Outstanding work! The covert malice of supposedly moderate Muslims is the big untold story of the conflict between Islam and the West. After a "moderate" Muslim has spoken soothing words in public, it's striking how easy it is to uncover a private radical past with a little googling. If Muslims are shaking their fist in your face, you are on the right track and should stick with it, confronting them with their radical views. More and more, I've come to believe that the pursuit of the mythical moderate Muslim is like chasing Sasquatch. Lots of folks claim to have spotted one, but nobody can produce one.

Yours will be a lonely job, because most of America is simply unaware of what's going in the mosques in their own community. I suspect that the deeper you dig, the worse it will get.
