Theodore Dalrymple, a physician, is a contributing editor of City Journal and the Dietrich Weismann Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. His current book is Romancing Opiates: Pharmacological Lies and the Addiction Bureaucracy.

Nicole Gelinas, a City Journal contributing editor and the Searle Freedom Trust Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Victor Davis Hanson is a contributing editor of City Journal. He is the author, most recently, of A War Like No Other: How the Athenians and Spartans Fought the Peloponnesian War. His other books include Mexifornia and Carnage and Culture. He is a classicist and military historian at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.

Christopher Hitchens is a columnist for Vanity Fair and the book critic of the Atlantic Monthly. He is a biographer of Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine, and the author of studies of Palestine, Kurdistan, and Cyprus, as well as of George Orwell, Henry Kissinger, and the Anglo-American relationship.

Kay S. Hymowitz, a contributing editor of City Journal and the William E. Simon Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, is the author of Liberation’s Children and Ready or Not. Her new book, Marriage and Caste in America, is a collection of her City Journal essays.

John Kekes is the author of many books, most recently The Roots of Evil, The Illusions of Egalitarianism, and The Enlargement of Life: Moral Imagination at Work. He is Research Professor at the State University of New York, Albany.

John Leo is a contributing editor of City Journal. He has worked as a staff writer for the New York Times and Time, and as a contributing editor and columnist for U.S. News and World Report. He is the author of Two Steps Ahead of the Thought Police and Incorrect Thoughts.

David Garrard Lowe is president of the Beaux Arts Alliance, an organization dedicated to celebrating cultural links between the United States and France. He has lectured widely in America and Europe, and is the author, most recently, of Art Deco New York.

Heather Mac Donald is a contributing editor of City Journal and the John M. Olin Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. She is the author of Are Cops Racist? and The Burden of Bad Ideas.

Steven Malanga is a contributing editor of City Journal and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. He is the author of The New New Left, a collection of his City Journal essays.
