Robert Adam, an English architect, is internationally renowned for his classical buildings and traditional urban planning and design. He has written widely on architectural history and theory, and his books include the standard work Classical Architecture: A Comprehensive Handbook.

Richard Brookhiser is a senior editor of National Review and a columnist for the New York Observer. He is the author of America’s First Dynasty: The Adamses, 1735–1918, and Alexander Hamilton: American.

Theodore Dalrymple is a physician who regularly sees patients in an English prison. He is a contributing editor of City Journal and a columnist for the London Spectator. His latest book, Life at the Bottom, is a collection of his City Journal essays.

Victor Davis Hanson is a contributing editor of City Journal and the author of Carnage and Culture. A military historian who teaches classics at California State University at Fresno, he lives on a family farm in Selma, California.

Howard Husock is director of case studies at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and a City Journal contributing editor. An Emmy Award–winning journalist, he is the author of Repairing the Ladder: Towards a New Housing Policy Paradigm. He has also written for the Wall Street Journal and The Public Interest.

Stefan Kanfer, a contributing editor of City Journal and a former editor of Time, is the author of several novels and social histories. His most recent books are Groucho, a biography of Groucho Marx, and The Essential Groucho.

Heather Mac Donald is a contributing editor of City Journal, John M. Olin Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, and author of The Burden of Bad Ideas: How Modern Intellectuals Misshape Our Society. Her articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, and the New York Times.

Myron Magnet is editor of City Journal, and the author of The Dream and the Nightmare: the Sixties’ Legacy to the Underclass, which George W. Bush calls the book that influenced him most, after the Bible.

Steven Malanga is a contributing editor of City Journal and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. He was formerly executive editor at Crain’s New York Business.

John H. McWhorter, a contributing editor of City Journal and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, is the author of Losing the Race: Self-Sabotage in Black America and The Power of Babel: A Natural History of Language.
