"Relatively unknown"? Lempicka is overrated, but anyone who ate at a restaurant, glanced at the covers of numerous novels or strolled into a condo for sale in any major North American city between 1990 and 2004 saw dozens of Lempickas without even trying.

Typhoon or Buffoon?

Paglia is (often) fun to read, difficult to listen to in person. I wish she had a compass. Art and philosophy do make good partners - as demonstrated by J. Donald Walters in his "Out of the Labyrinth" and "Art as a Hidden Message."

Great article - haven't heard or read Paglia in years. Glad she's still stirring up the culture and shining a mirror to some of the preconceptions and prejudices of our culture.

Anyone who thinks Andy Warhol was a great artist and the duel in Revenge of the Sith is the greatest work of art in the past 30 yrs needs to have her brains examined.
